Recipe #27 Chocolate Chip Banana Cream Pie

I didn't even know that this recipe existed until someone close to me asked me if I could make one! So I did some research and found this on verybestbaking. The recipe asks for refrigerated chocolate chip cookie dough. (Nestle makes it) It is in a package and you break the cookies off and can bake them. Well I like to do things from scratch so I made my dough. So whatever is easiest for you!!

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pkg. (16.5 oz.) Refrigerated package of chocolate chip cookie dough, softened (Or you can make a homemade chocolate chip recipe which is what I did the recipe is at the bottom)
  • 1 can (12 fl. oz.) Evaporated milk
  • 1 pkg. (3.4 oz.) banana cream instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2 medium bananas, peeled and sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups frozen whipped topping, thawed
  • Chocolate Flavor Syrup, (optional)
  • Semi- sweet mini chocolate chip morsels, (optional)

DIRECTIONS:
1. Preheat oven to 350° F. Grease 9-inch pie plate.
2. Press 20 squares of cookie dough* onto bottom and up side of prepared pie plate.
3. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes or until golden brown; flatten down with back of spoon to form pie shell. Cool completely on wire rack.
4. Beat milk and pudding mix according to package directions in small bowl; refrigerate for 5 minutes.
5. Spread 1 cup pudding over cookie crust (save remaining pudding for later use). Top pudding with bananas; spread with whipped topping. Refrigerate for at least 1 hour or until set. Drizzle with chocolate syrup; top with morsels. Cut into wedges.

NOTE: May substitute 1 1/2 cups milk for Evaporated Milk.

*You will have 4 squares left. Refrigerate for future use or bake and enjoy!

BON APPETIT!
