Recipe #42 Chicken Marsala

So my boyfriend and I were at Marc's doing the grocery shopping for the week and we stopped by where the spices were and looked at one of those prepackaged spices with recipes on the back. Well we had everything that the chicken marsala called for so instead of buying the prepackaged spices my boyfriend took a photo of it with his camera!! SMART!!






INGREDIENTS:

  • 1/3 cup all-purpose flour for coating

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

  • 1 teaspoon garlic

  • 1 teaspoon onionrjoram leaves

  • 1 teaspoon ma

  • 1 teaspoon dried basil leaves

  • 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves - cut in cubes

  • 3 tablespoons butter, divided

  • 2 tablespoons olive oil

  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms

  • 3/4 cup Marsala wine

  • 1/2 cup chicken broth



  • DIRECTIONS:

    1. Heat 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of oil in a skillet on medium high heat.
    2.  Mix flour, garlic, marjoram , onion, salt, and pepper together. Set 1 tablespoon of mixture aside. Coat chicken with mixture and then place in skillet until cooked. Remove from skillet.
    3. Place mushrooms in skillet and cook for 5 minutes. Add broth, wine, reserved tablespoon of mixture, basil and parsely and bring to a boil. Place chicken back in skillet and heat. Can serve with noodles or rice.
